The dark portion of Thermoflare is hydrophilic, facilitating water absorption and creating a barrier of warm water which the body heats up. The retention of water molecules reduces the amount of water that needs to be re-warmed. The lighter portion, on the other hand, is hydrophobic and hollow, providing excellent fleece-like insulation against the skin, adding to the warmth that the hydrophilic material already generates. And let's not forget, the Thermoflare liner dries in a jiffy!
